My Florida cousin told me once when he retired, he was going to move to Michigan and drive 10 miles under the speed limit with his left turn signal on.
I have been behind hundreds of those folks. I can’t wait until I am fully retired and I can drive in the left lane while driving at the speed limit, during rush hour.
The minimum speed on I-44 in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 40 MPH. Over 30 years ago, an old lady my folks knew said that she drove 40 MPH in the left lane to make people slow down. Dad told her she could get a ticket for breaking the law by driving at that speed in that lane.
I have driven on US 169 which is the Mingo Valley Expressway in Eastern Tulsa to go south to E. 91st Street to go to the VA clinic. If you drive the speed limit, lots of cars pass you. Oklahomans complain about California drivers; but, here in Oklahoma, once you get your drivers license, you never have to take a written test or driving test again. When I lived in North Hollywood, CA, I was a driver for an attorney service and I can say for the most part, there are better drivers in California. On a regular work day, I drove 100 miles if I didn’t leave the San Fernando Valley. But, on some days in the afternoon I went as far east as San Bernardino or as far south as Santa Ana.
I recall a cartoon where a farm hand, on seeing the boss return with the tractor and trailer, said “now he’s finished playing in the traffic all day, I suppose he wants us to load it before finishing”
