We could actually be over this by now if everyone had been vaccinated, with an effective vaccine. The US has too little interest due to political affiliations. The EU has done a little better, but has failed due to the same divisive interests seen in the US. Africa/India etc don’t worry so much, since few of their peoples even usually live long enough ordinarily for covid to be a threat. China knows its vaccine is a joke, thus freaks out whenever it has an outbreak. South America has done well in vaccinations, but too many of it’s peoples have been vaccinated using ineffective Chinese and Russian vaccines. The virus continues to mutate into more efficient pathogens. We’re a long way to seeing the end of this.
Covid will be around for everyone’s lifetime, it is not going away. Some will wear masks in public, others will continue to deny Covid even exists. There will be annual vaccinations and boosters based on which variant doctors think will be prevalent the following year save and excepting the development of “the magic bullet”, a vaccine which is able to adapt to whatever form Covid evolves into.
For some reason, this reminds me of Ophiocordyceps unilateralis, the fungus that infects ants, turns then into zombies, then makes their heads explode. No political comments, please. The fungus is equal opportunity.
You can always pick out of a crowd the people who are ideologically opposed to mask mandates, because they’re the ones who are stark naked. Gotta be true to your principles and demonstrate at every opportunity how consistent you are in standing up for the freedom to disregard all those oppressive, over-reaching, dictatorial gummint laws about what you have to wear on your own personal body.
I had jury duty today and was very glad that none of us were called to a trial and only had to be in the jury lounge for about 3.5 hours. And mainly because I was one of only two jurors wearing a bloody mask.
It’s not over, but people don’t want to believe that.

Steve, Ivana Trump has died seemingly after a fall downstairs in her Manhattan home. She was 73.
How about your next illustration depict the Orange Baboon making this tragic event all about HIM??

Here’s your fun fact … you can’t get Monkey Pox, if you had a Smallpox vaccination. So us old guys/gals are in a happy place for a change.
