Interestingly enough, surviving ancient graffiti is much like that appearing today. More than a few times, in excavated ancient Roman bath houses, inscriptions are found in the format of “Arcadius [or whoever] —s excellently.” One famous example, “Lucilla ex corpore lucrum faciebat” is the equivalent of “Call Lucilla for a good time.”
