British historian A. J. P. Taylor called Hitler ājust an ordinary German politicianā and, though violently antisemitic, no more antisemitic than millions of other Germans of his time.
I have an idea for a story about a German scientist who invents time travel. He does this in the 1980s, 30 years after a nuclear war between the Soviet Union and the US has killed 95% of humanity. The scientist decides the best way to prevent the apocalyptic war is to give the two countries a common enemy. Perhaps even start a non-nuclear conflict to show them how devastating war can be. I call the book. āDr. Hitler.ā
Iāll never write it, of course. Hitler was a monster.
Maybe it could be about a group of scientists who lose control of their time travel attempt to prevent nuclear war when one of their members turns out to be a genocidal racist.
āIn order to prevent nuclear annihilation, I must travel back in time to kill Herr Doktor Johann Gambolputty de von Ausfern-schplenden-schlittercrasscren-bon-friedigger-dingle-dangle-dongle-dungle-burstein-von-knackerthrasher-applebanger-horowitz-ticolensic-granderknotty-spelltinkle-grandlich-grumblemeyer-spelterwasser-kurstlich-himbleeisen-bahnwagen-gutenabend-bitte-ein-nĆ¼rnburger-bratwurst-legerspurten-mitzweimacheluber-hundsfut-gumberaber-shƶnendanker-kalbsfleischmittleraucher von Hautkopft ofā¦ā
