I originally read “rats” in the first panel as “nuts”. By the time I got to the last panel, I inferred it should have been “rats”. Upon further reflection, I think “nuts” applies.
I had a pet rat as a kid. Her name was Evie because she was black and white. She used to sit on my shoulder all the time with her tail curled around my neck. I really loved her!
