Funny, I thought SJOY had been going on a fair bit longer that fifteen years. Talk about encroaching senility.

I believe if the general public actually had a say, Rose would today be in the HOF, dispite it all.

@Alabama_Al Agree, it isn’t the public holding Pete Rose out of the HOF.

Where do I go to nominate Jerry Sandusky?

He hasn’t put up the SJOTY website yet. Sandusky probably should get it hands down. He did, after all, essentially kill Joe Paterno.

Okay, not LITERALLY, but still.

Not sure if it’s a forgiving America as much as a forgetful America.

If we disqualify all lying scuzballs, that will shorten the list of HOFers. It is not the business of the writers to change the criteria for the HOF. But if they want, it would be OK to create a separate HOF called Nice Person HOF.

And another thing. This year I hope the SJOTY website is easy to find. I’ve never actually seen the list. The link last year was phony.

I will give some consideration to Pete “The Jerk” Rose AFTER the induction of Shoeless Joe Jackson.

Look up Jackson’s Stats from The Dead Ball Era. Lifetime batting average of .356 and World Series Avg. of .345. He was Acquitted of the gambling charge and denied throwing the series till the day he died.

Rose admits to all the charges leveled against him.

When Rose dies, he’ll be in. That will be the ultimate punishment.
