We should be boycotting the upcoming Winter Olympics in Beijing, due to what they’re doing to that tennis player who accused a high ranking Chinese official of raping her & then making her a prisoner & then forcing her to give an interview with the corrupt head of the totally corrupt IOC, that was a phony as a three dollar bill! And what they’re doing to her, is just the least of what atrocities the Chinese are doing to the Uighers in Xinjiang!

Always puzzled me that people would go all the way to the Arab Emirates for a sporting event when we’ve got Las Vegas in our own backyard.

As a couple of posters have noted, Tank could be talking about a couple of N. American leagues; the NBA being the most egregious example – Kantor being the only notable exception. And they booted Sterling on a Constutionally prohibited action.Unless the fans start showing their displeasure with their wallets, nothing will change!

Tank has a shorter lead time than many comics, probably just 2-3 weeks, but this is really something. I first heard the term “sportswashing” a couple of hours ago, on NPR’s Morning Edition, and now here it is again.

I’ve disliked the term “lipstick on a pig” ever since the first big revelation I had about where Fox News was coming from. It was 2008, and then-candidate Barack Obama made some comment about putting “lipstick on a pig” over some issue, and the Fox commentators were vociferously up in arms about it, claiming he said it to demean Sarah Palin! Geez! I wasn’t a Fox watcher or listener, I just heard that in passing on a TV in a hotel lobby, but I learned something that day!

Please don’t insult pigs. Well, maybe you can use pigs for SA and Qatar: they would find that comparison exceedingly insulting, and that gives me a smile.

Sarah Palin did a great job of demeaning herself,without assistance.
