Good to see Craig Stadler is doing okay. I hope he has given up the smokes.
Once back in the ’90s I followed the pairing of Stadler and Daly for a round at a PGA event. Both dudes eclipsed a pack of heaters easily (could have been pushing 2 packs apiece) and who know what was in the plastic bottle Daly was sipping on. Anyhow both went about 2 under if I recall correctly.
The joke may be old but the ad bombardment is true. I’ve been getting those same annoying ads for apps.
I may not be as buff as I was 40 or 50 years ago. I certainly don’t look like the AI image of the old guy with the six-pack abs in the chair ads. I’m never gonna look that ripped!
Although my mustache and goatee may be white, I am not nearly as big as the character in the cartoon. I do exercise and I’m careful with my diet and caloric intake. At 79, I’m in good shape for the shape I’m in! So why do those fitness ads irritate me so much?
An acquaintance of mine many years ago was very strong, worked out a lot, but had a lot of extra fat around his middle. He insisted that wasn’t fat, it was table muscle. I don’t have as much as he did, but I insist I have six-packs hiding behind my dessert muscle.

It’s hard to resist temptation when you’re trying to get in shape.

If you pay the fees for the exercise then you don’t have the money for the extra food.

I love the AI ads with old man heads on top of bodies honed by hours every day for years in a gym.
