I bet you’re lucky at cards though, Tarzan said happily.

Charles has been berated by June, his she-devil of a “wife”; thrown about like a ragdoll while suffering from a terrible bout of the jungle trots compounded by Sobeto’s super-strength laxative truth potion; and forced to wear stinky pooped in safari pants for days. This poor guy can’t catch a break…..plus how does Tarzan maintain such good posture through all of this abuse? Ah, Charlie….June is so horney and uptight she was not affected by the laxative, and the secret dose of Imodium didn’t hurt either!

Bah. If they really wanted to kill em, why didn’t they use a potent poison. Some hut of the condemned indeed.

The Hut of the Condemned is also known as the Storage Shed the other 364 days of the year.

“No, not that.”, replied Tarzan. “The mystery is how the author came up with this storyline full of of killing innocent animals and sex with gorillas and a b**** of a wife.”

One can’t help but wonder if Johnson and June couldn’t have come up with a slightly less elaborate plan for disposing of Charles. Perhaps one with fewer elaborate costumes, dangerous drug consumption, endangered animal slaughter, and gorilla rape… Nah! ;-)

They just drank poison, shouldn’t they be dead?

The poison oracle of the Azande is a much better approach. They ask a yes or no question as they feed poison to a chicken (or fowl of some sort) whether or not chicken dies answers the question (e.g., “yes” if it dies, “no” if it doesn’t). Then they ask the question again with another chicken but reverse the answers (“no” if it dies, “yes” if it doesn’t).

According to the source from which I learned of the it, it’s a surprisingly effective procedure.
