Let’s send our kids to school well-armed with the latest in profitable corporate weaponry, Mom to the grocery with a fashionable AK-56 in Blushing Pink, Dad gets the heavy gear: a turret-mounted RPG. ‘Hand Out?’ Free? Can’t be cutting into gun manufacturer’s profit margins, nor Cancun Cruz’s campaign bribes! It’s the American Way!
Well, now, Ted, it’s rather unfair to judge President Biden on his response to the deaths of US citizens at the hand of assault weapons vs. military intervention. On Ukraine, Taiwan, and other hotspots about the globe a possible military response has always been an option with presidents, Dem and Repub. But, in the case of preventing deaths from assault style weapons, the military response in inappropriate. Yes, comparing the tough- guy-military response to the weapons-to-plows response is not going to look heroic enough to some people, like yourself. More’s the pity. But, it is just this type of response that we must do to curtail the senseless deaths of our citizens, young and old, alike. Our Lord called upon us to, at times, turn the other cheek. That’s not a very rambo like response but it may be the hardest one to do. Evidently, rambo is the only response you, and many like you, can tolerate.
Nothing changes. the GQP stop any legislation that would help the people. Don’t blame Joe, he’s trying to do what’s right. They did the same thing with Obama.
It’s ridiculous to blame the President. The government and what it does as a whole reflects our collective societal values. Guns, drunk driving, overdosing, not taking lifesaving vaccines, etc. As a society we have decided that it is a core value that people are allowed to harm themselves and others as long as it is kept in the “family” among our own citizens. The incalculable suffering and death is an acceptable byproduct of “freedom” and a profit driven economy which we prize above human life, ethics, morals and God. We also believe as a collective society that we know better than other societies. So we intervene. Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump, Biden…there was nothing any of them could do to change that. And our society didn’t encourage them to try.
I’m all for Biden issuing Executive Orders to mandate background checks for all gun transfers, especially the ones involving cousin Derek, who has an old felony conviction & a drinking problem. I also understand the courts will quickly strike it down as unconstitutional.
The House has passed several good bills this week, but let’s focus on the couple Democrats who refuse to do away with the filibuster, instead of the 50 Republicans who will never do anything to stop Drunk Derek from getting a gun when his wife threatens to leave with the kids.
Can’t help people HERE, we have to “prove” the economy is strong again by forcing people to get covid without actually doing anything to end the pandemic.
So will they now take the red-flagged shooters away from the guns or still try to keep the guns away from the red-flagged shooters? Is the list of red flags comprehensive, put together by people who know how, or is it still the one put together by Capt. Obvious?

$40 billion was just sent to Ukraine. That was more than 90% of the states received from the Federal government in fiscal 2022.
