I finally saw my new neighbor’s cat yesterday – a pretty little orange girl with white socks. She ventured out on the front lawn for a few minutes then screamed hysterically at the door to be let back in. I’ve never seen anything quite like it!
Oh, I hope they don’t catch cold! I was going in to see about getting a kitty (I’ve been planning forever) but turns out Kim at the no kill shelter says they all have colds which apparently is normal for this time of year. :( On a different note, I actually went into a PetCo yesterday in my neighborhood and am now officially overwhelmed! There must be a bazillion types of cat food, toys, health products, beds etc. I was hoping to adopt a kitty for National Cat day (September 29th) but ah well. No such thing as too much planning. Which of course Chesney and Annie can attest to!
And that folks is why I have extra keys buried in strange places. I refuse to be locked out, even though I am an expert at breaking in. I am too old and beat up to be going in windows or replacing door knobs if I don’t get it quite right. And what I mean by expert is that I used to repossess houses for VA as a teen for a Realtor and was shown by the best how to do it without damaging windows, doors or locks with the right tools. Spare keys are by far easier.
Adoption update: The 2 girls went to a young couple with a little boy, maybe 4 or so. The wife never had a cat so had a lot of questions. The husbands’ mom has had cats all her life and encouraged them to adopt 2 kittens from the same litter when they were ready. Lucky day today, they were ready!
The male went to a woman and teenager son on a trial for 5 days to see if kitty would acclimate to their 2 small dogs or make the other son have an allergy attack.
As I was walking in the door, the phone was ringing. The son broke out big time immediately in hives so Brad went to bring him back. Since he’s alone now, he can stay out at night and not have to go in the kitten room to sleep alone.
We are trying to come up with a name. He’s 18 weeks old now and needs one.
There are some 8 week old babies at the shelter – maybe Linda will let me bring them here.
I had my coffee on the bridge “with mom” this morning.Donated blood.Got some laundry done.Decided on a pizza for dinner. What I didn’t do is buy that Fenton Glass hand painted bunny that I’ve had my eyes on. Oh, well. It’s moms birthday, not mine.

Annie is not much as a disciplinarian. I guess I am glad that Chesney is not alone out there.

The Title of this picture I found is “After Bath” and the first comment was:-
“You found a UFO and the 1st thing you did was give the pilot a bath?”

I know Annie loves Chesney and vice versa. Now they get a real chance to bond out there all alone, just the 2 of them.
I have never seen a Sphynx cat up close, but I feel sorry for the poor little things. And I personally think they look rather distinguished.
