Yum Yum is taking the 1/4 inch of snow we have on the ground as a personal offence. I think she believes Paul and I are responsible for it, as she has been scolding us all morning.
We had RAIN last night, first good rain this entire year! California’s High Sierra crest keeps most of it on the western side, and my east side Owens Valley is know as the “land of little rain”, so it was a big deal for us! We are also the deepest valley in the US – about 15 miles wide between 2 mountain ranges.
Yesterday’s topic of conversation about wanderlust cats and kittens reminded me about my Tabby. Back in 2005, he was a barn kitten in rural southeast Ohio. He climbed up into the engine compartment of the farm’s pickup truck and was on top of the motor when the farmer took it to a nearby store for supplies. He held on and rode it back safely to the farm. When the truck stopped and he realized he was back home, he hopped down to the shock of the farmer.
Today, I will be posting the last pictures before my operation tomorrow. Sometime today, I will get a call with the time of my operation. Boy, will I be ready.
Posting nine kitty pics to the Ten Cats Fan Club page on Facebook. This kitty has a purrfectly good explanation for why the kitchen floor is such a mess.
Yesterday’s comments on cats and their hiding places – the fabric on the underside of box springs is so thin and flimsy, cats tear it up quite easily. My cats had that fabric all torn up and they loved getting inside the box springs to play at night while I tried to sleep. Believe me, it’s hard to sleep with the racket of cats and kittens in your box springs! I bought an inexpensive mattress cover and put it on the underside of my box springs so they can’t get in there any more. Foiled ’em good!
Bucky had a rough weekend. He felt rough and was looking like he wanted to go to the bathroom but couldn’t, so we took him to the vet this morning. I called as soon as they opened and they said to bring him in right away. We left him there and they said they found an abscess near his anal gland (no wonder he was reluctant to go) which they drained and cleaned, and sent him home with some antibiotics. He’s feeling better now, but I have no idea how he could have got it. That’s our Buck.

We are supposed to have snow squalls later today. I imagine Her Highness will hold us responsible for those, too.

When you play “this little piggy” with your hungry cat, you risk your piggy being held hostage until you feed it.

Do you think your cat is big? Compare it to this Maine Coone.
