June 23 is:

National Pink Day. But I thin my one pink shirt is in the dirty laundry.

National Hydration Day. The sky might hydrate us. I think they’re predicting rain.

National Pecan Sandies Day. I’ll have to point this out at work and maybe they’ll serve up these cookies in the break room.

I loved yesterday’s comments about other people’s gardens. My garden is on a farm, but not at my place. It’s my brother Mark’s place, about 3 and a half miles from my house. It’s the same farm (but with a new house) where our dad grew up. I don’t use anywhere near all my produce. I take a lot of it to work and I sell it in the break room and I donate the money to the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). I’m selfish with the potatoes and sweet corn and I keep all of that for myself. I plan on keeping all of my carrots, too, because not a lot of them came up. I usually keep all of the watermelons too, but I hope to produce enough to share this year. Last year’s melons were a HUGE flop and I didn’t even get enough for myself. And the squash I have planted is mostly Butternut squash. I think I have one hill of acorn squash. Several people at work ask me to bring in green tomatoes and I actually sell more green tomatoes than red ones. I’m keeping my fingers crossed I won’t have too many squash bugs or potato beetles or those pesky raccoons eating my corn. Someone at work gave me a great recipe for butternut squash (it wasn’t squash soup, though) but I don’t know where I put that recipe. I know it’s around here someplace!

Exploration continues this morning. Last night she hopped up in the bed for a short time. Sweetheart put up with it. :)

Had some ladies come to look at the kittens last night – a recent widow and her two adult daughters. They loved the babies but were still going to see another litter another foster mom has. Fingers crossed but no matter which ones they take, they all need homes.

On another note, is anyone else getting constant and extremely annoying popup ads from arcamax comics? If so, how do I stop them?
