IN reply to QOA who said yesterday about our sale on crayons, “Someone should buy a lot of them and donate them to an elementary school because at some point, school will be back in session. Or donate them to a day care or nursery school. Or a womens shelter for the kids.”
I saw a few people buying up a lot of boxes of crayons. I never asked any of them what they were going to do with them, but I hope they were donating them to schools or something and not planning to sell them at a profit. We have one guy who regularly comes in and buy a bunch of clearance stuff dirt cheap and we know for a fact that he’s reselling the stuff.
On another note, we also had a BUNCH of folders (the 2 pocket kind) that we had reduced to as little as 5 cents each. Several people bought a bunch of those, too, yet we were left with literally thousands more. Yesterday, most of them were put together to be donated to area schools. We also donated a bunch of 3-ring binders and some other school supplies that we had in the clearance aisle. A few years ago, we donated 5 full pallets of loose-leaf notebook paper to the area schools.
We had tons of pens, pencils, markers, highlighters and colored pencils marked down to practically give away prices and quite a few customers were buying bunches of those things too. I dearly hope most of those things were being donated. Between incredibly low prices, big sales and a BIG donation of stuff in the back room, we finally cleared out nearly all our excess back to school stuff.
I got an email supposedly from my email provider saying that someone in Havana Cuba had requested my email account be closed. If I didn’t call an 850 phone number within 24 hours my provider was going to close it.
It was an obvious phishing expedition. I called my provider to let them know about this new scam. Don’t those scammers know that Americans are not as rich as the Chinese anymore? They should be scamming them, not us.
Somehow, Annie doesn’t seem to be the villainous type. (Chesney, on the other hand….) On another note, saw a dragonfly while out walking today. I also saw a robin, a Stellar’s jay, and a squirrel while out in my garden.

She would have to be a “super villain” who laughs maniacally while bringing them food, catnip and comfy cushions.
