I’ve got a sad little story that some of you might find interesting. Many of you know I feed wild Mallard ducks in my yard every morning and evening. I usually average around 50. Unfortunately, Monday evening, after feeding them and going inside, someone hit a duck with their car while driving by. I discovered this Tuesday morning and noticed I had fewer than normal ducks show up for breakfast, around twenty. The surprising thing was…..and this has NEVER happened, not a single Duck showed up for feeding on Tuesday night. Not a one! Wednesday morning they were back and even now as I type this there are over 40 waiting for me to feed them. I’ve heard of crows morning the loss of a member of the flock, but was amazed by the ‘’no show’’ on Tuesday night…..absolutely amazed. I love my Ducks. Happy July 4th. everyone.
