Isn’t 1 A.M. awfully late for Annie to be out?

    Today is:

INDEPENDENCE DAY. With a 70% chance of rain at fireworks time. Like we need rain! We just got 3 inches from Monday night through Tuesday evening. Three inches that we didn’t need! We can’t seem to go more than 2 days in a row without rain and I desperately wish we could send it to someone who needs it.

    NATIONAL BARBECUED SPARERIBS DAY

    NATIONAL CAESAR SALAD DAY

    ALICE IN WONDERLAND DAY

I’ve got a sad little story that some of you might find interesting. Many of you know I feed wild Mallard ducks in my yard every morning and evening. I usually average around 50. Unfortunately, Monday evening, after feeding them and going inside, someone hit a duck with their car while driving by. I discovered this Tuesday morning and noticed I had fewer than normal ducks show up for breakfast, around twenty. The surprising thing was…..and this has NEVER happened, not a single Duck showed up for feeding on Tuesday night. Not a one! Wednesday morning they were back and even now as I type this there are over 40 waiting for me to feed them. I’ve heard of crows morning the loss of a member of the flock, but was amazed by the ‘’no show’’ on Tuesday night…..absolutely amazed. I love my Ducks. Happy July 4th. everyone.

You’re in trouble again, Chesney – or is it still?

My first thought was that he would be disappointed there was only one fan. Excellent punch line.

Sigh. I just discovered Molly climbing my 5 foot block wall while I was doing a little weeding outside it. The wall is somewhere around 400 feet surrounding the large double lot. BIG problem on those few days in this very hot summer when I must be gone too long to leave her in her kennel. She has really attached herself to me and not in an especially good way.

I don’t think she wants his autograph. Looks like Chesney will have to do his comedy routine on the Loading Dock from now on. On another note, saw two juncos, a rabbit, and a butterfly while out walking today.
