Yeah, like a cat could knit. No way. They’d be too busy playing with the balls of yarn. (I am speaking from personal experience.) And with ten cats after one ball of yarn — it would never get untangled.
MUDD DAY. Mudd Day recognizes the birthday of Dr. Samuel Mudd, a man whose name was mud after his dealings with one man. After assassinating Lincoln on April 14, 1865, John Wilkes Booth rode with co-conspirator David Herold to Dr. Samuel Mudd’s home in the early hours of the 15th before crossing into Virginia. Mudd performed surgery on Booth’s fractured leg and allowed both men to stay the night. At some point, Mudd must have learned of the assassination. However, he did not report Booth’s visit to the authorities for another 24 hours. This delay appeared to link him to the crime, as did his various changes of the story under interrogation. On April 26th, authorities arrested Mudd. A military commission found him guilty of aiding and conspiring in a murder and sentenced Mudd to life imprisonment. He escaped the death penalty by a single vote.President Andrew Johnson pardoned Mudd, and he was released from prison in 1869. Despite repeated attempts by family members and others, Mudd’s conviction has never been overturned, nor has his record been expunged.
I had a very busy, but very productive day off yesterday. I spent most of the day in the kitchen. I made a chocolate cream pie for our Christmas dinner, plus I baked sugar cookies (a double batch), and chocolate chip cookies (only 2 dozen) and I made fudge and divinity. I also did a load of laundry (it’s still sitting in my dryer waiting for me to fold it and put it away) and I shoveled the 3" or so of snow from my sidewalk and driveway. I hope there wasn’t a lot of snow after I shoveled. The snow had stopped when I went out to shovel, but I never checked to see if it started up again. I’m pretty tired now.
Well, your sock can be as big as the Jolly Green Giants’, but you’re not getting any more than the others !!!! (It may even look like you’re getting less.)
Looks like it’s already full of coal. Joey did very good yesterday, had 4 teeth pulled plus a cleaning and including anesthesia and more meds the bill was almost half than I had been quoted. He immediately ate a bowl of baby food when we came home, and another this morning. I did a little snowshoeing and hiking in the Mammoth Lakes area but the groomed trail was too close to the road noise, so I drove to one of the few lakes further south whose road is open and hiked through the snow partially surrounding it, and with no one else around I got my solitude fix.
My gosh, only 1 person I know could have influenced Chesney to knit that humongous stocking! Yes ….. my daughter Farah. My cats run from her when she visits and knits….and knits….and knits….
