My two look at commercial toys and walk away. They make their own toys. The one exception is a knit mouse that is 43 years old. Never seen them play with it, but it does migrate around the house.
I threw one of those balls and my cat (Wilamena the Radio Cat) chased after it and brought it back to me. “Great,” I thought. “Maybe I can teach her to fetch the ball.” The second time she raced madly after it and brought it halfway back, the third time one-quarter the way back. It took five throws to figure out she was teaching me to fetch. (Re-commented to correct spelling error.)
