They need to bring home a live tree and transplant it come spring. Personally, I can’t have real or fake trees in the house because of allergies. Almost 40 years ago I made quilt with a tree design that I still click ornaments and lights to. After I take it down, I can clean off that pesky dust.
Christmas trees are a renewable resource that actually contribute to reducing carbon in the air and giving us oxygen during their growing cycle. Enjoy them…
The faux fir I have is 50 years old. My parents bought it when I was a kid. My dad and sister gave it to me when I moved into a large enough apartment. Tradition can come from anywhere.

We buy a live tree in a pot, decorate it for Christmas, then plant it outside in the spring. That way, every year we plant a tree:-))

Either way, it can be a fun time – a family project – something that they can do together.

One of my routes takes me past a Christmas tree farm. Last time I drove by it they had spray dyed all the trimmed ones with green………………….

My sister, who has asthma, started coughing after we put up a little real tree (possibly spruce)—not sure if it’s a new allergy, or just a flu.
