Lutefisk is bad enough, rumor has it that only skdinavian people who grow up (not throw up= with it can really stomach it. Its consistency and its smell are – somethimng else.

I remember reading a newspaper article about ist which startetd with “There are dishes which smell bad and taste good – Lutefisk unfortunately smells bad and tastes bad.” A Norwegian than commented that because of the horrible smell he and his siblings were evacuated from their parent´s house for severals days when they were small because they simply couldn´t stand it.

An Ugli I had to look up, its a cross between a Mandarine and a Grapefruit, actually said to be delicious.

And the Eastwood movie is one of my all-time-favorites so funny and so gripping. Most epic showdown ever.

I lived in Central Wisconsin decades ago and I tried Lutefisk — once. Not long after, there was a Newsweek article which mentioned lutefisk as a rubbery, repulsive dish. Someone sent in a letter which protested that lutefisk was NOT rubbery.

I haven’t seen ugli in a long time, probably because California is twitchy about citrus crossing its borders (they say it’s worry about fruit flies, it may be more about buying local). Pureed citrus would be a good trick, I think you’d just get juice.

So I had to look up lutefisk. And Google said it’s cured in lye? Isn’t lye poisonous? And none of that stuff sounds good.
