This is where you stop discussing the matter with your boss, and call the ones who really matter, your clients. You would be advised to lose the whiny-complainy vibe you have going though. A little reassurance will go a long way.
okay then, lets get a bunch of soap, put in the washing machine with the lid open on super high heat on turbo then take off before things get sudsy. :D
Acme. But of course, those scoundrels. There is no honor when it comes to money. A life lesson learned by Brutus. A lesson that the Boss has probably taught to other companies though, also….
It doesn’t seem to bother people these days. We all know that there are real supply issues, yet Americans keep buying more and more. Maybe we’re thinking that we better get things while we can? So maybe change the story to “Our product is so great that we can’t keep it in stock! Obviously Acme’s product isn’t so good because they have plenty of it.”
It sure is! At my job, one of our competitors is known for telling bald-faced lies to potential clients about us. We refuse to play that dirty but it’s definitely the way some companies continue to play the game no matter how unethical it is.

It’s not something to get into if you don’t like getting dirty or don’t like taking showers.

Veeblefester looks put out because he didn’t think of using the same strategy against Acme.

I have never seen the boss look so forlorn and sad. He must have dropped a nickel down a drain some place.
