As someone who goes to them for a living ( along with SS) he is right. But the two are interchangeable. What kills me is the Garage sale people that get their prices from similar things on eBay.

I used to love thrift stores and yard sales and salvage sales and estate sales. My late really did also. I miss her so much. Not any fun now.

Saw a sign saying “Estate Sale” when passing by a mobile home community. I guess it was better than a sign saying “Carport Sale”.

Around here, an estate sale is one selling off everything of someone because they died

While Shakespeare may have been right about roses, JUNK by any other name IS still junk, only much more expensive when called by a different name…..

Garage sales clear out stuff that has been replaced. Estate sales clear out everything the heirs didn’t want. You can’t take it with you.

An estate sale means someone died and you are buying things that they displayed. A garage sale are things that were headed for the garbage. So the people make a couple hundred bucks for YOU to cart their crap away.

I pass by signs that say ‘Yard Sale’ all the time, and pass by the next week and it’s still there.

Very clever Chip, and funny, but too close to reality, on Gladys’ part, don’t you think?…

One person’s trash is another’s treasure. Here’s the difference Brutus: if Gladys gets tired of the stuff she can sell it at a garage sale. Or if she hoards it Wilberforce will be forced to sell it at an estate sale when she dies. Speaking from experience here!

I know it’s spring when I start seeing garage sale signs. They started late this year. So did spring.
