The Salem witch trials did not burn witches. It hung them which is a quick death. It was in Europe that witches for centuries were burned at the stake along with any sort of heretic. Incidentally, there was a time in the Middle Ages when reading the Bible meant you were a heretic! Seriously. The church did not want people finding out what the Bible really said. And that’s why the Reformation occurred and Gutenberg’s printing press making it easy to make copies of the Bible was so important.
In Salem and other towns in the heart of witch hunt heaven, there were ZERO witches burnt at the stake, there were many who were tortured and or hanged but none burnt
I am still confused about how, if those women were “real” witches, they didn’t just do something (like in this cartoon, for example) or even just direct attention away from themselves.

You’d think those witches would come up with a spell to untie a rope.

I know it’s picky, but why is a witch tied to a cross?

Remember that black slaves and white men & women were burned for “inciting slave revolt”. Here in North America.

Witches were not burned in Salem. They were hung. More humane and Christian…
