It would never have worked anyway. You’re AC screw-in and he was DC plug-in. You should both go out looking for some nice, compatible sockets.

Let’s be truthful. We all go straight to bright with 3-way bulbs. The dim and brighter are just annoyance clicks.

He just wanted to switch things around.

Some many years back, I found one of the first 3-way LED bulbs. My grandson, a computer-kinder, was fascinated. He’s now a E-E / Comp-Sci Junior. He shocked me last year by answering my question, “What’s the first differential of acceleration?”

2 way, on-off is plenty for me too! Which makes me think: aren’t those actually 4 way bulbs when you count “off”.
