Sometimes it’s better to roll doubles on the third try.

As a lad spending summers Down The Shore, we used to combine Monopoly games so that every space could have a hotel. Having the cat jump on the card table and upset the board if you were losing was also a legitimate tactic. :D

this finally prompted me to look up Marvin Gardens. The property in Monopoly is based on Marven Gardens in Margate City NJ. The name is a portmanteau of MARgate City and VENtnor City ‘cuz it’s on the border of both. It’s now in Registers of Histoic Places of NJ and the US

Has anyone ever “finished” a game of Monopoly? I mean without the game board being thrown and game pieces and money scattered all over the floor?
