Welcome back to school everyone! Welcome! It's good to see you all! Welcome back! It's going to be a terrific year! Welcome! Hi! Hello! We can smell fear, you know. Yep. So can we. Truce. Let's get to work.
Aaaand you have to keep in mind that, these days, the first day of first grade is NOT their first day of school. That’d be kindergarten, and, in some states that’d come after a couple years of pre-school… and before that, wherever the parents had them enrolled since they were six months old…
My professor for the comp sci operating systems course was clearly terrified of public speaking. You could hear it in the pained crackle in her voice during every lecture. It was excruciating to sit through. You would think someone with that persistent phobia would go into a different line of work.

Good boy, Eddie! I was (and am) terrified of going into a class of 10-year-olds or younger. Older ones, I love to teach – younger ones…

It’s been Dennis the Menace’s first year of school since, I think, 1963 or something.

Miss Whatshername looks like she could be Sheila’s older sister or aunt. I bet that wasn’t intentional but it could certainly work.

Hhhmmmm. I’ll have to watch out for stuff like that. I was just trying to get more people with spot black in their hair, so far as I recall.

Its not the fear – its whether or not the teach actually wants to be there, with the kids.

Or maybe, you should give some respect to someone who faced her fear every single day!
