I need to go shopping. Means: I've got to get out of the house and relax for a bit. Maybe look at boots. I need to go shopping. Means: my need for something has now reached a critical point. I need to go shopping. Means: my obsessive desire for some trivial toy has driven everything else out of my brain. I need to go shopping. Means: I've been listening to overnight call-in radio again. I need bags of concrete and defensive weapons.
I hate shopping. Husband loves to walk around in stores – not buy stuff as if we can’t afford it we don’t buy it and generally not unless we need it.
My big time out alone is one day a month I get to go to a club meeting, return the soda bottles and run any errands he does not like to do.
