Because we bought a house that was all stairs, including off the deck down to the back yard, back when I had functioning knees, did this with one dog, doing it with another now. Of course, it takes me longer to get back up that it does for him to be helped up. But at least he comes running back to see how I’m doing.

Had a test run in my mid-30s. Pinched a nerve in my lower spine and spent 10 days crawling between the bed and bath.

For me it was my senior dog’s last couple of years that made me think of it, dementia, loss of bowel control, ect…
