We actually did a story arc about 16 or 17 years or so ago where Larry and the kids tried to build a battlebot… Scott Stantis was even interviewed on the TV show. Technically, now, it was before Toby was born and Larry was in his twenties… or some weird #SpaceTimeContinuum thing. You’d have to ask Susan Lucci how time works in Soaps, Comic strips, comic books, and series of detective novels. I think ‘Spencer For Hire’ is now in his nineties.
Scour thrift shops, online and garage sales. That’s what my husband does. He built a robotic lawn mower so he wouldn’t have to go outside and mow in the summer!

In the short gap between “I want to” and “I will” lie experience, education and judgement.
Or not.

Had a friend, back when BBs were a new thing, he wanted to build one. Two problems: he had zero mechanical skills and he wanted me to fund it.

But he did OK at the science fair because he did not try to fake them like the other kid.
