I’ve been saying key words to myself, and sometimes out loud, while I set out on my original quest. No longer can think, I’ll do that as soon as I’m through here. I hope this is still normal aging.

I have multiple pairs of readers. In my den (along with computer glasses), in the front office, in the living room, the garage and in the car.I still can’t find them half the time.That’s why I carry another folding pair in my pocket at all times.

Dang it!

Forgot to go back to work… Golly gee!

I have the variable lenses so I wear them all the time. But I am very familiar with this scenario for other things. Just this morning on the way to make coffee, I wound up doing 4 other things first.

This is why I keep Evernote on my laptop, phone and tablet. I’ve also been known to use Facebook Messenger to remind hubs of things :)

What bothers me most is losing words :(

With some things, I set visual reminders like a jug of water next to the houseplant plants for example.

When you get old, you think about the hereafter.

You walk into a room, and say “what was I here after?”

My wife is at the reader stage and they are all over. I got mono-vision LASIK and only wear glasses to adjust the “close” eye for outdoors and driving.

At least you can AFFORD glasses… :P :P :P

I have a pair of reading glasses in every place that I’m likely to read

I dont lose them, but I do break the ones I use at work sometimes, I do keep them in my apron pocket

Dollar store readers, I buy several pairs at a time for just such an eventuality

Duh, you needed them to see.

We keep pairs of reading glasses all over. Kitchen, library, family room and elsewhere. Readers.com has some great styles and great prices.

“Has the mail run yet?” is an expression I’ve never heard.

The only time my glasses are off is for showers and sleep… I’m pretty “blind,” lol. Out of curiosity, I just measured: right eye, I can read something about 10" away; left eye, 6".

I started wearing glasses in second grade – the teacher noticed that I would walk up to the blackboard and memorize an arithmetic problem, go to my seat, solve it and repeat. At first they were needed for school, TV, movies and similar only. Over the years I started to need them all the time.

Some years (over a decade, maybe 2, I am sure) I started needing prescription reading glasses. (Could not use over the counter ones as I did not see far enough without my prescription glasses to read.)

Over this time I have collected eyeglasses. I now have – distance glasses, reading glasses – kept in kitchen (using now to see computer), newer reading glasses (slightly stronger prescription) which I use to see desktop computer upstairs. Prescription sunglasses. Variable distance glasses. Variable distance glasses which also change sunglass to clear and back. Spare pair of distance glasses – kept in car as one night we were in a store and as I was wiping my glasses clean I realized left hand a lens in it and the right hand had the rest of the glasses in it, and if I was there without without husband I could not drive home – so there is a spare pair in the car now. We are 18th century reenactors so I have a pair of wire, small lens glasses which I used when started in the hobby at events and a similar pair as sunglasses. Since then I have found and bought reproduction 2 pairs of eyeglass frames and have proper clear and sun glasses for the period (very tiny round lenses). I use my first pair for same for the occasional 19th century reenacting event and the sunglassses from same as a spare pair of same kept in our van.

But in more recent years with all of these glasses I have found it easier to not wear any glasses when I am reading paper items (as opposed to computer screens) or doing embroidery.

Luckily my vision changes very little so I have been able to accumulate this collection.
