That’s what’s always baffled me about ‘Robot apocalypse’ stories, why in the world would you program something with the ability to be resentful/jealous/greedy/whatever? Just leave that code out!
That is the problem with AI, it is a learning machine. It rewrites it’s own code. I read an article about an AI program in a simulation doing stock trading. It had rules about not performing insider trading transactions, but it made one and then lied about it when queried. It learns the worst of human traits…..
