Dusty: I think I see me a goldfinch! Professor: Aha! It's a white-throated sparrow! Evelyn: Is that a rose-breasted grosbeak? That's rare this time of year! Goldfinch: I see a brown-capped cowbird! They're considered pests in some areas! White-throated sparrow: There's a white-breasted nitpicker! Rose-breasted grosbeak: Hey!! Check out that black-capped fussbudget!!
We once made up a composite bird for a joke question on an ornithology exam. I named it (based on parts) as a “Western Dabbling Gull-footed Thrushpecker.”
