Hopping a train isn’t easy or particularly safe. Forty years ago, I attended a conference in Atlanta. One night, they bussed the 5,000 or so attendees out to Stone Mountain for dinner. Massive traffic jam caused us to get there about an hour late. I ate dinner with one of the few people I knew at the confernce when we heard that the train was about to start on its last trip around the park. So the two of us hurried down to catch it and got therre just as it was departing, moving very slowly. Scott, the other guy said something like "we can catch that. Wanta try?’ and we took off, him in the lead. Just as he was making a leap, we haerd this extremely loud “STOP”, which caused Scott to stop but also lose his balance and fall to the ground. A guy came running up and said “don’t you know you could have hurt yourself?” Getting up, Scott muttered to me, yeah, especially if you try to stop mid-air."
