In one of the first “Elderberries” strips, when 80-year old Dusty arrives at Elderpark, the Professor was introduced as being not all that old (I want to say in his early 60’s?). His issue was memory problems, but that seemed to have been forgotten early on (note, this statement was not an attempt at humor, poor or otherwise!).
