I think the kid meant the NPR channels. People seem to think they are dull because they avoid the hype and glitter of commercial channels. But they do provide more detail and a broader range of material than the others and there are no long, really ugly commercials.
My I interest was piqued by several shows over the years and I went so far as to buy the DVDs to have the show for myself and a pleasant surprise was the lack of censorship in words and pictures. Of course one show has a character I love to hate and every otherworld it seems is [REDACTED]. And of course there’s the one with Phryne Fisher posing and on Australian TV and on the DVD it’s not blurred out. USAians are so weird with that. All the murder and blood and guts but watch the words and you can’t watch the butts.
