I remembered Walt Kelly using “BAMFF” as onomatopoeia once in Pogo and a character referring to “Lake Bamff.” I’ve always loved that esoteric joke and wanted to do an homage to it.
And I had everything in place for this strip but couldn’t think of Liz’s punchline until we were downstairs watching “The Million Pound Drop” and the Davina joke shot into my head.
There was an old TV show episode (and please don’t ask me which show, ‘cause I don’t remember) where a running joke was a Mountie looking for “the burglar of Banf-f-f-f”
Runar – that was “F-Troop” – the Singing Mountie episode with Paul Lynde as the Singing Mountie! He was after Agarn’s lookalike cousin, Lucky Pierre Agarnierre (Larry Storch, of course.) I well remember the Burglar of Banf-f-f!
Found it!

Good one Pab- tho I had to search for that Daniva (and never saw a photo -possibly blocked by my Norton). I love to see the totally esoteric and archane. I also love that Masterpiece Mysteries has a new Sherlock who has a Dr Who influence (texting and cell phones and …. OH MY!)

So the sound of exploding b00bs is the name of a Canadian resort city. Interesting.

Walt Kelly was fond of funny-sounding words.
I had to Google Davina McCall and I still don’t get the joke.

Is there a Banff airlines? There was a Braniff Airlines once. Famous for 1 bright color per plane.
