    The lush jungle is disappearing and the monkeys are cooking in the pots of the local poachers. This one is lucky.

    Never mind all the breading programs and protected species found only in zoos today. This dismisses all their good work.

    Habitat. It’s all about habitat. And habitat, or the lack thereof, is all about human population. It’s gonna take a pretty big asteroid to get things back in balance.

    The alternatives 1 leave animals alone and let poachers and human development crowd them out to extinction2 build create and adequately protect large preserves -where only the very rich will be able to see them3 continue the use of marginal zoos4 demand quality zoos and visitable habitats where they can be protected from extinction and still allow the common person some kind of experienceTo me 4 is the only really viable option
