What’s TRULY TERRIFYING is that the last panel is STILL RELEVANT even 15 YEARS LATER!!!!

While trying to stomach the eerie relevance of this 15 year old toon; one of my favorite thought exercises, to stay alert while driving, is to imagine Benjamin Franklin in my passenger seat and the conversation that would ensue about how all of the functions of my car work would unfold.

I also sometimes imagine having a conversation with a slave-owning rapist. And by “conversation”, I mean one-sided smackdown.

Rubin. What happened to Super-Fun-Pak-Comics? Did you finally get that boat paid off?

One of my favorite daydreams is explaining an AK47 to Jefferson and Madison, pointing out the problems that slavery has created, etc. I would really like a seat at the table when they wrote the constitution, but being female, I would be lucky to be allowed to serve the tea. Then, I think about what we are screwing up now when we are totally aware that it will be a problem in the future.

Paul Kelly must have brought his violin case to school that day.
