Thanks to visits to the Zoo as a boy, polar bears became my favourite animals. I also loved tigers and elephants. The fact that my favourite Disney movie was The Jungle Book until I saw 101 Dalmatians may have influenced my liking for tigers and elephants.
I was fascinated by dinosaurs when I was just a tot. Lots of kids are. What I don’t understand is, how did they (we) discover dinosaurs? (Don’t say “Flintstones”. I preceded them.)
When I was training to be a docent at the Bronx Zoo, the trainer assigned each of us a zoo cat to report on. She gave me the snow leopard and privately said “this is my favourite cat.”
I had to do a ton of research (pre-internet days) to give a talk that would include information she didn’t know. But I did.
Mrs. Maclellan is the absolute best 2D Mom in the the whole 2D universe! Mermaid who walks amongst us, shares Wallace’s Schwaps enthusiasm, encourages his pursuit of Pinball Wizardhood, and now this!
