Just read a story related by a store security officer who caught a woman stealing a bunch of bananas. When confronted she refused to open her purse so the officer got one hand on each side and slapped them together, then walked off saying to enjoy your banana pudding……

Spud: “I could go for a bowl of oatmeal, as a bowl of oatmeal!”

It rained the Halloween I was four. Our father stood at the kitchen door and pretended to be various different people, giving us the candy he would otherwise have given to trick or treaters.

Strange, but that’s my absolute favorite Halloween memory.

At first I thought Sterling had a pirate patch over one eye, then I realized it’s just part of his unibrow..

So this year, he brought an umbrella

Which to be fair, given the right idea Wallace would dress as a bowl of oatmeal.

I friggin love this comic. Hippie mom is too cool. Banana/oatmeal Wallace is too funny and cute.

I grew up somewhere with unpredictable Halloween weather. Often I would have the most elaborate, amazing homemade costume…..buried under a heavy parka because it was snowing. Think spider with eight legs that were all interconnected so I could do cool things with them….but actually not, since they were crunched up against my sides under the coat! Ugh!

Aw man, the costume wasn’t even that bad an idea, it was just undone by unforeseen weather conditions.

My takeaway is always have a spare costume handy.
