The world will be a better place by the time the meek get it.

Looking at the world today, it’s hard to believe that it was ever that bad, but it was. I can remember a news story about a river that was so polluted, it caught fire.

What will the meek do with that creek?

One addition to the pollution list since this strip ran: now plastics fill the oceans and the food chain.

We used to look at factories and regret the pollution. Now we look at shuttered factories and regret loss of jobs and strategic production capability.

When I was a kid, there was not a living thing in my river (the Lee, in Hertfordshire), and the Thames was almost dead. A couple of decades ago the Lee had fish, and the Thames had /has salmon and seals!! It is improving.

plastics are a blessing and a curse. They aren’t as recyclable as they pretend they are.

Hudson River. It is so much better now… a whale was spotted there in 2020.

The big cleanups are working, but people still throw their trash all over the planet. Lottery tickets, water bottles, coffee cups, etc. I saw trash on the side of the road in Acadia National Park! Pick up after yourselves and stop being part of the problem. How many of you would be upset if someone else threw their garbage on your property?
