Today’s strip reminded me of “The Thirty-nine Steps”. I enjoyed John Buchan’s book and the three movie adaptions plus a TV adaption and a stage adaption.
John Buchan watched the first movie adaption which was directed by Alfred Hitchcock and added a lot to its rather short plot. Hitchcock is said to have asked Buchan during the screening of the movie if he liked the changes to his novel and Buchan is said to have replied, “Yes but can you tell me how it’s going to turn out?”
I’m thinking the king could do with getting himself a little cabin down by the moat so he doesn’t have to hike all over the castle for a midnight snack.

If the second panel is shortly after the first, Id is apparently in the Southern Hemisphere.

I thought the fink goes up to his throne by hanging one of the peasants as a counterbalance.

or in my case, you wake up at the 5 star hotel at noon, eat big breakfast, then walk every step of the French Quarter like I did today.
