There is an Atari “Flashback” system out there, which looks like the original, but is already pre-loaded with 75 games.

About $40 on Amazon. Way cheaper than the original

I still have my Atari 2600, and it still works! Now I’m just gonna have to see if I can plug it into my Big Screen for old times sake.

I actually loved my atari 800. That thing could take such a beating hitting “hyperspace” in star raiders. Plus I could program my own games!

I don’t have to miss my Ataris. I still have a pile of them, and I think they all still work. Lessee, I have a 400, an 800, a 600XL, a couple of 800XLs and several different flavors of ST. Never got a TT, though. And I’m not even a game player. I used mine for spreadsheets, word processing, and Fidonet e-mail, but the kids sure played games on them.

Someday I’ve GOTTA clean out that attic.

Don’t know. He’s not in the picture, so we haven’t heard yet what he came as. Probably as one of the Grateful Dead.

Wow John, I knew we had something in common— I was an Atari 800 owner. That computer was WAY ahead of its time; first computer of its era to use separate chips to handle graphics and sound. Love that display list interrupt! And the GTIA chip! My 800 still works, and when my 1 1/2 year old twins are old enough, I’m going to fire it up and show them what that retro Atari logo is ALL about!
