One of the more useful tools of the engineering profession was the handy dandy conversion book.

Still, it’s nice to have a unit between .3937 inches and 3.28 feet. I know there decimeters, but I never hear anybody use them.

6th grade (1971 or 2?) we had a year of the decimal. that was it. i’m not a fast learner o things like that so the end of the year it was lost. I do wish we were with the rest of the world though. One year and it got cut, I don’t know why either, Maybe they will teach it again?? Or will we have to go out into the world, No wonder we don’t have job skills needed for better ones.Most tools are metric anyway..

There are 5,280 Feet in a mile (based on the average stride of a Roman soldier).

Plenty of European countries also using old units for many situations, they’re half in and half out. For that matter, here in the US plenty of science and engineering done in metric
