My wife and I have already bought our tickets. We will be seeing the 3:50 matinee on Saturday, December 19. We will be watching it in the normal way, because we are not interested in either IMAX or digital 3-D.
The only time I camped out was when only one theater in the area was throwing a “Trilogy Tuesday” for the opening of the 3rd LotR’s movie. They were playing the extended editions of the first two with the new one to start at 12:01 am Wednesday morning. I was 10th in line. :o) This was Dec. 17th in Washington, DC, so it did get a little cold. Had a blast. Several of my friends were singers and came up with LotR’s songs to sing to Christmas carol tunes. The first person in line was the friend who gathered us all together – she was even interviewed on local TV. :o) My mom didn’t spend the night, but she did join us at 7:00 in the morning to wait with us. I come by my “geekiness” honestly. :oD Love you mom!!
if it’s good I’ll get the DVD or Blu-Ray when it comes out. My family enjoys movies at home more these days, theaters have become too silly: the lines, the overpriced food and drink and tickets for that matter, the commercials, the excessive loudness for parts that don’t need to be loud, the talking knuckleheads and people who block view at bad times

You’ll just want the next month off to camp in the theater.

Rita’s already given that much time off to too many people for the same reason.

Isn’t it a national holiday lasting a week, starting 3 days before it opens?

Rita does have a point, though. Dana’s hair is starting to grow back nicely, and they can’t afford another computer exploding…

I’m psyched to see it but I can wait until the crowds die down a bit before I go.

I work for the USPS. Get opening day off a week before Christmas? Not me, I’m afraid.
