What means “know”? I know many languages where you can extract the length of a string. What the function is, I have no idea. I can think of a half-dozen different formats off the top of my head. I still say I “know” JavaScript and Java and BASIC, with the help of the interwebs. Or a decent GUI, which replaced the stack of manuals I needed when I worked in a SCIF.

The only computer language I know is English. All others I have to Google translate.

I USED to know a dozen or so languages, back when I had a memory worth something. (like 40 years ago) Now, I am lucky I can even remember what some of them were called.
