Is t me or does the woman look like Olive Oyle?

I got my love of the funnies from my father. I recall him telling me he loved the long arcs because sometimes, he could only scrape together the three cents for a newspaper once a week and he could still be entertained and keep up.

“I’ll gladly work on Tuesday, if you leave me alone today…”

Very convincing. Someone in the future is going to come across these and think the mentioned strips were real.

Now I’m going to be looking for opportunities to use the word ‘Vex’. Shouldn’t be a problem.

Roy will gladly fix it Tuesday for a hamburger today.

I really like these “throwback” strips! However, I’m always surprised how some readers still think they are real.

Good old R.O. Dowser. The one who drew Rita with the bad, selfish and vain (but deep down lovable and naive) personality and an unique appearance that made her one of the most beautiful female characters in the history of comics strip.

The roles of Rita and Roy are today being played by Olive Oyl and J. Wellington Wimpy.

Respectively.

I’m waiting for Roy to say, “I’ll gladly pay you tomorrow for a hamburger today”.

Of course Roy is good with machines! Look at his last name, he’s a Natural!
