There’s a convenience store advertising on the TV about their special gasoline. I’ve heard that all gas comes through the same pipes to the bulk dealers. If there’s anything special added it would be there but they aren’t bragging of any ingredients, just how much more trustworthy theirs is.
I’m not a coffee drinker (but I love coffee ice cream.) I just can’t seem to think that Starbuck’s or some other “gourmet” place does some magical hocus pocus to their beans that actually makes them better.
I mean for goodness sake it’s grown 50 feet away on the same mountain as the Folger’s stuff.
Although I have heard about some coffee bean that is removed from the poop of an animal after it was eaten and digested and supposed to be great.
Penn and Teller did a thing where they had a fancy restaurant fill designer water bottles with tap water from a hose out back. The waiter described all the distinctive choices of bottled water from exotic places like mountain streams in France, and the people made selections off a menu. They all raved about the distinctive differences in character and flavor of the waters, just like wine connoisseurs. And it was all tap water from a hose.

A friend bought me a “fancy” coffee once, it reasserted my belief that they are highon cost and low on satisfaction.

Much like bottled water.. add a fancy label and it doubles in value.

I get a kick out of people that claim they love coffee then add four packets of sugar and 2oz of cream.

Anybody remember the old Perrier commercial about a French guy with a cigarette and beret filling bottles out of an outdoor garden hose faucet?
