I’m happy when I remember mine.

When we finally felt able to return to church last spring (before the variants started), I discovered that over the year plus since we had started lockdown, I had managed to forget a large number of names. Of course it also did not help that at that point we could still only see half of peoples’ faces.

Just call her “Karen” and let it go.

That could’ve gone much worse.

I have trouble with everyone’s names. Unusual names are easier, but I’m bad at all of them.

Proper nouns are the hardest to remember. Half the time I’m lucky if I can remember my own name…

In real life, I have a history of head trauma. Part of it is that I often forget names, and it’s to the point that if I meet someone and I don’t immediately write their name down there’s no guarantee I’ll remember it even 15 minutes later.

This is why I get so frustrated when people lecture me about “personal pronouns”, as they’re telling someone with memory issues that they’re a “hater” for not being able to immediately recall twice the information at once.

I have the opposite problem, I hear a foreign name and I remember, but I hear an American Name and I can’t remember.
