Sometimes what appears to be ants are just ants.
I remember looking down from the SkyPod on the CN Tower in Toronto (the highest observation platform in the world at the time at 1465 ft) and being so disappointed that the cars and people below didn’t look like ants.
I’m guessing somebody in the tree house brought something that the ants want to eat.
